Director of Admissions

Claren Academy is an independent elementary school in downtown Vancouver, BC. Founded with a focus on the future, we give our students strong academic foundations and the tools to be creative, competent, and happy in their changing world.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Admissions will manage admissions and recruitment for all grades (currently K-7, with a grade being added each year up to grade 12).

The Director of Admissions will market and represent Claren to prospective parents and the broader community, increasing Claren’s visibility in the independent school market and driving enrollment as the school enters a period of accelerated growth.

The Director of Admissions will also manage the admissions process from inquiry to selection and enrollment, owning Claren’s enrollment management systems, managing all recruitment events, and overseeing communications with all prospective families.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbally
  • Strong marketing, social media, and SEO skills
  • Demonstrated success in independent school admissions and marketing
  • Willingness and ability to travel and/or run events on evenings and weekends as needed
  • Experience with Blackbaud Enrollment Management Systems is an asset
  • A community-focused approach
  • A Post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as marketing, business, or communication.
